Printing Points: Inkspots

Inkspot

Ink has been used in a variety of ways some cool and some just weird. Here a few of them.

Homemade Invisible Ink

Did you know you can make invisible ink with lemon juice? Just squeeze it into a bowl along with some water and then write on a piece of paper using the makeshift ink. It disappears once it dries, but if you put it up towards the light it reveals the words.

Termite Control

Do you have a termite problem, try ink! When termites are out looking for food and find something they want to take back, they excrete pheromones that other termites can follow to lead them towards their meal. You can interrupt this process by using a ballpoint pen to create a trail leading them away from your house. Ink from a ballpoint pen is similar to the pheromones termites emit.
