Be a cut above the rest.

Perforations and scores can be done in-line if they are straight across the length of a printed piece. Perpendicular or angled scores and perfs require a die and a separate process which will add cost and time to the project. Mirco-perfs have more cuts per inch than a regular perf and leave a cleaner edge upon removal.

Do:

  • Keep in mind how you want the edge of the piece to look when it is removed from the sheet. Use a regular perf on thicker stocks like cover weights. Scores and perfs that don’t go all the way to the edge of the
sheet or have angles require a die – factor in added cost and time.

Don’t:

  • Placing a perf within ¼” from a fold can cause folding issues. If you are doing a capacity piece with a double score, make sure the two scores are at least ____ apart.
